The scheme replaces a car wash on Aldershot High Street with a seven-storey mixed-use building. Commercial space occupies the ground to fourth floors, with one-, two- and three-bedroom flats above.
The proposal is framed by the Aldershot Town Prospectus and its ambitions for the town centre. New homes on the High Street bring residents who will support local shops and leisure. The site is well connected by public transport and surrounded by a mix of commercial and residential buildings.
An internal courtyard gives residents shared outdoor space within the block. The building is designed to be fully accessible, with provision for wheelchair users and adaptable homes.
The design follows Part L of the Building Regulations, with high-performance insulation, renewable energy technologies and sustainable materials reducing energy use and, over time, running costs for residents.
