At 19 Fulton Road, a vacant mezzanine level within the mixed-use development on Olympic Way and Fulton Road is being converted into a sports bar and restaurant. The site is central to Wembley town centre and its Growth Area, among homes, offices and commercial space, and has a history of planning approvals for similar uses.

The principal design question is how people reach the mezzanine. A new ground-floor entrance from Fulton Road, with a hall, staircase and lift, gives step-free access to every visitor and gives the venue a visible presence on the street. The mezzanine itself holds the main bar, seating, toilets and kitchen.

A large glazed frontage makes the use legible from outside while respecting the character of the area. Sound insulation and energy-efficient systems are part of the base design rather than later additions. The interior layout is planned to make the most of the floor area and to remain flexible, so the space can be adapted in future.

External works and amenity areas tie the venue into its surroundings.
